Getting started with your new blog.....

The first step is to determine what kind of blog you want.  Is this for a business?  Or is it for fun?  Are you setting up a blog to share information with friends or complete strangers and whomever stumbles across your blog?   You must decide on a subject and theme for your blog.  If you don't know completely what a blog is or what it does, start here with this wikipedia definition.

Once you get an idea, go see what others are doing.  Go to your favorite search engine and type in "team blog" or "reunion blog" or "mp3 blog".  Whatever the subject of your blog, I'm sorry to say, you're probably not the first.  You can also search on "blog directory" and get a plethora of sites, all with 100's of links to blog sites.  Now before you get totally confused, visit the directory I go to for ideas.

So you've got an idea, a subject.  Great!  The next step is to choose a theme.  A theme is simply a website template.  It's the structure that keeps straight all of your blog entries, categories of articles, links, pictures and anything else you put in there.
